Mental Health Practitioner / Carers Support Lead
Sarah has worked extensively with neurodivergent individuals and those with mental health conditions in CAHMS and both specialist inpatient settings and outpatient services. In addition to working directly with children and adults who have a diagnosis of ADHD/ASD, Sarah has a special interest in working with families to provide carer support and implement family interventions to support both young people and parents at home. She incorporates evidence-based approaches, including DBT and CBT-informed approaches in group and individual therapy.
Sarah worked and supported many people through difficulties in their lives using person-centred approaches before completing her Psychology degree later in life at the Open University alongside working and raising a family. She is currently in the process of achieving a post-graduate certificate in Autism at the Sheffield Hallam University. Sarah leads our family and carers support programme and is ADOS-2 and ADI/R trained. She is part of Umid’s specialist neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention team.
Sarah is also an autism ambassador.
