Clinical Director & CBT/DBT Therapist
Sarah is a CBT & DBT Therapist and the co-founder of Umid. Sarah specialises in the treatment of individuals of all ages with a variety of mental health difficulties. She has developed a wealth of experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings with NHS and private healthcare organisations. Sarah is deeply committed to her work and embraces a compassionate and person-centred approach. She relies on evidence-based practices to effectively support individuals in their recovery journey, fostering collaboration every step of the way. Sarah aims to help individuals achieve their personalised therapy goals, ensuring their well-being and long-term success.
Training and Qualifications
Sarah completed her psychology degree from London South Bank University in 2011, followed by additional postgraduate training in Social Work and later in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Throughout Sarah’s career, she has gained additional training and experience in various psychological therapies, including DBT, CBT-E, MANTRA, schema therapy and compassion-focused therapy. Sarah has specialist expertise in neurodevelopmental assessments and autism/ADHD support interventions. She is trained in both ADOS and ADI-R, the NICE-recommended evidence-based assessment tools.
Sarah’s previous clinical and supervisory experience includes her role as Clinical Lead for Psychological Therapies at The Priory Hospital Southampton, where she led the psychological therapies team to deliver individual and group psychological therapies across the hospital. Sarah has extensive experience in developing and implementing specialist therapy pathways based on the latest research, including supervision support structures and consultation groups for other professions.
Sarah is fully accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and holds registration with Social Work England. She is also a BPS-accredited clinical supervisor.
