Who We Are
Umid is a multi-disciplinary mental health practice in Hampshire. Our team includes a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, various accredited Psychological Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Mental Health Practitioners. Though our team members are independent practitioners who work at Umid along with their other roles, they can provide integrated care for people who need input from different professionals.
Umid specialises in providing person-centred, holistic, and compassionate care to children, adolescents, and adults; in person and via secure video link. The online provision makes most of our services accessible regardless of the geographic location in the UK. Umid’s work includes adult psychiatric assessment and treatment for common mental health difficulties, including specialist neurodevelopmental evaluations such as Autism and ADHD. In addition, we provide psychological and occupational therapy assessments and treatment interventions across the lifespan, including a specialist neurodevelopmental pathway that comprises autism assessments for children and adolescents and post-diagnostic support for the individual and families.
As a service, Umid is committed to assisting you in becoming the best version of yourself by gaining understanding, awareness, and the confidence to develop new perspectives and live the life you deserve. Our approach begins with a thorough assessment and formulation to determine your needs. We will then work together to explore a bespoke treatment plan with your personalised goals at heart to get the most out of your therapeutic journey with us.
All our specialists are regulated by and registered with relevant professional bodies and offer treatment in line with the latest guidelines.
Our Vision
Kaleem and Sarah founded Umid to represent their passion and vision of supporting people going through difficult periods in their lives.
We are struck by the challenges that our friends, family members and the people we have worked with over the years have shared with us regarding access to professional support when needed. We wanted this to be different and felt we could influence the change and play our part in the process.
We are firm believers in the core message of Umid, which is to offer hope, help and assist people in living their lives in harmony and aligned with their values and goals. We strongly advocate for mental health challenges not to be viewed as a problem that needs to be fixed but as a holistic approach to leveraging personal strengths to overcome what life may present. We believe people have all the resources they need to live a fulfilling life, including the potential to acquire new resources. We are here as partners and guides in their journey.
